Quantjo Terms of Service
Effective date: May 3, 2026
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Chitrav Research Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India having its registered office at 5/4, Block B, Madhu Park Ridge, Langer House, Ibrahim Bagh Lines, Hyderabad, Telangana, India 500031 ("Quantjo", "we", "us", "our").
By creating a Quantjo account or using the Quantjo platform (the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction;
- you are not barred from receiving the Service under applicable law (including, where applicable, sanctions regulations);
- you provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
The Service is offered globally over the internet but is operated from India. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service is lawful in your jurisdiction.
3. The Service
Quantjo is a software platform that helps users design, backtest, optimize, and paper-trade algorithmic trading strategies. The current Service includes:
- account creation and management;
- AI-assisted strategy development;
- backtesting against historical market data sourced from your connected providers;
- parameter optimization;
- simulated paper-trading using live market data from your connected providers.
The Service is currently a research and simulation tool. Quantjo does not place real orders, does not execute trades in your brokerage account, and does not act as a broker, investment advisor, portfolio manager, or research analyst under SEBI regulations or any equivalent regulator.
We may add, modify, or remove features from the Service over time. We will provide reasonable notice of material reductions in functionality.
4. Your account
4.1 Registration
You create an account by registering with an email and password. You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
4.2 Credentials and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly at security@quantjo.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses caused by your failure to keep credentials secure.
4.3 One person, one account
Each account is for a single individual. You may not share your account, sell access, or let another person use your account.
4.4 Beta status
The Service is currently in Beta. Features may be incomplete, behavior may change without notice, and data loss, downtime, or errors are possible. The Service is provided on an as-is basis during Beta; see §6 and §10.
5. Connected providers
To use most Quantjo features, you connect at least one supported market data provider (currently Zerodha, Databento, or Massive) using your own credentials.
- You must comply with the terms of service of every provider you connect.
- Quantjo's relationship is with you, not your provider. Provider outages, rate limits, billing, data quality, and account access remain between you and the provider.
- Quantjo never asks for your provider's username and password. We use API keys or OAuth tokens that you authorize.
- Quantjo never places trades in your brokerage account.
- We may suspend a provider integration if the provider's terms or APIs change in ways that prevent compliant operation.
You may disconnect a provider at any time from your account settings. Disconnecting a provider may disable backtests, optimizations, or paper-trading sessions that depend on that provider.
6. Risk disclosure and disclaimers — IMPORTANT
6.1 No financial advice
Quantjo is a software tool. Nothing the Service produces — including AI-generated strategy code, backtest results, optimization output, or paper-trade signals — is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Quantjo is not a SEBI-registered broker, investment advisor, portfolio manager, or research analyst. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions.
6.2 Past performance, simulated results
Backtests and paper-trades use historical or simulated market data. Simulated and historical results do not predict future returns. Live markets behave differently from simulations: real trades incur slippage, latency, partial fills, market-impact, and emotional and operational risk that simulations cannot fully model.
6.3 AI assistant
The Quantjo AI assistant generates code and suggestions probabilistically. Output may be incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable for your goals. You must review every line of code the assistant produces before relying on it. Quantjo does not warrant the correctness of AI output.
6.4 No fitness for any particular purpose
The Service is provided for general algorithmic-strategy research and simulation. It is not intended for, and is not warranted as fit for, regulated trading, fiduciary investment management, automated execution, or any use where a defect could cause significant financial loss.
6.5 Market and execution risk
Trading and investing in financial markets involves substantial risk of loss. You can lose more than you invest if you use leverage. You should only deploy real capital based on strategies you have independently validated, and only an amount you can afford to lose.
6.6 As-is
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or freedom from defects. Quantjo does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Quantjo disclaims all such warranties.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to violate any law or regulation, including SEBI rules, anti-money-laundering laws, sanctions regimes, or tax laws;
- use the Service to manipulate markets, engage in insider trading, or commit fraud;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or our infrastructure;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, except to the extent these restrictions are prohibited by applicable law;
- circumvent rate limits, plan limits, quotas, or any access controls;
- interfere with the Service's operation, including by sending malicious code, automated abuse, or denial-of-service traffic;
- use the Service to generate content that infringes third-party intellectual property, defames any person, or contains unlawful material;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these rules.
8. Your content
8.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you create on Quantjo, including project names, strategy code, chat messages, and run configurations ("Your Content").
8.2 License to operate the Service
You grant Quantjo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, display, modify, and process Your Content solely as needed to operate the Service for you and to provide AI-assistant features. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backups retained for the period described in the Privacy Policy.
8.3 No model training
Quantjo does not use Your Content to train Quantjo-owned AI models. Third-party AI processors (currently OpenAI) handle Your Content under their own terms; see the Privacy Policy.
8.4 Responsibility for Your Content
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have the right to provide it to the Service. You represent that Your Content does not infringe third-party rights or violate any law.
8.5 Removal
We may remove or refuse to display Your Content if it violates these Terms or applicable law. We will notify you when reasonable to do so.
9. Quantjo IP and AI output
9.1 Our IP
The Service, including the Quantjo platform, software, designs, trademarks, and documentation (excluding Your Content), is owned by Quantjo or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.
9.2 AI-generated output
Code and other output produced by the AI assistant in response to your prompts ("AI Output") is provided to you for your use within the Service. Subject to the disclaimers in §6, you may use AI Output for your own strategy development. Quantjo does not claim copyright in AI Output produced specifically for your prompts.
9.3 Feedback
If you send Quantjo suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant Quantjo an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback into the Service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
10.1 Excluded damages
Quantjo, its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, trading losses, missed gains, or cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, regardless of the legal theory and whether or not Quantjo has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.2 Aggregate cap
Quantjo's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid Quantjo for the Service in that 12-month period, or (b) ₹10,000 (Indian Rupees ten thousand).
10.3 Beta carve-out
You acknowledge that the Service is in Beta and that loss, errors, and downtime are possible. You assume the risk of using a Beta service.
10.4 Statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, in India, liability for willful misconduct, gross negligence, or fraud).
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Quantjo and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, damage, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law;
- Your Content;
- your trading or investment decisions, including any losses you incur in real markets;
- your breach of any third-party agreement (including provider terms);
- your violation of any third-party rights.
We will give you prompt notice of any claim subject to this indemnity and will reasonably cooperate with your defense.
12. Fees and billing
The Service may include free and paid plans. Paid features, plan limits, billing cycles, and prices are shown in the product or at the point of purchase.
If you upgrade to a paid plan, you authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge the payment method on file for the applicable fees and applicable taxes. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or as we expressly state at the time of purchase.
We may change fees prospectively with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of paid features after a fee change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new fees.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
14. Suspension
We may suspend your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if:
- we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law;
- continued operation poses a security or legal risk to Quantjo, other users, or third parties;
- a provider integration is suspended in a way that prevents safe operation.
We will give you reasonable notice when practicable and restore access when the cause is resolved.
15. Termination
15.1 By you
You may terminate your account at any time by emailing privacy@quantjo.com from your registered email address. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
15.2 By us
We may terminate your account, with or without notice, if you materially violate these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
15.3 Effect of termination
On termination:
- your right to use the Service ends immediately;
- we will delete or anonymize your personal data per the retention rules in the Privacy Policy;
- accrued fees become due if applicable;
- §6 (disclaimers), §8.4 (responsibility for content), §9 (IP), §10 (liability), §11 (indemnity), §13 (governing law), and any other provisions that by their nature survive termination, will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will:
- post the updated Terms at this URL with a new "Effective date";
- for material changes, notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
17. Miscellaneous
17.1 Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Quantjo regarding the Service.
17.2 No waiver
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
17.3 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all our assets.
17.5 No agency
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship between you and Quantjo.
17.6 Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, government actions, internet or infrastructure outages, or labor disputes.
